Help Us Deliver Warm Sleepwear & Nurturing Books to Children in Need
We Need Lightweight Pajamas!
We're working every day of the year to provide new pajamas and new books to children on our wait list all year long. As winter turns to Spring, we want to make sure the children have comfortable, clean and cozy pajamas for bedtime. Help us provide these children with good nights every night!
Pajama Program provides new pajamas and new books to children in need nationwide, many of whom are waiting to be adopted.
Every child has the right to a good night. Thousands of children across the United States go to sleep at night afraid and lonely, in ill-fitting and soiled clothing and alone with their dreaded thoughts. A Pajama Program child may live in a group home, a shelter or temporary housing facilities. The children Pajama Program serves are often shuffled from one place to another. Many of them have been abandoned, abused or neglected. Most of these children have never enjoyed the simple comfort of having a parent tuck them in at bedtime with warm, clean pajamas and a bedtime story. Some of the children are living with their families below the poverty level, in desperate need of food, clothing and shelter.
The two simple gifts of pajamas and books let these children know that someone cares - sometimes these are the only new things they have ever received. Through this simple act of love, we can fulfill every child’s right to a good night.
October 1st marks Danger Season when temperatures around the country begin to drop.
Many of the children we serve do not have warm pajamas to sleep in on cold nights. In 2013, in an effort to serve 1,000,000 more children on our wait list, we launched the One Million Good Nights campaign with our main partners Carter’s and Scholastic. We promised to collect one million new pajamas, one million new books and the resources needed to get them in the hands of children in need by December 31, 2015. We are excited to announce that we met our goal of one million new pajamas and books. If you would like to support our efforts to distribute these supplies, you can donate here.
